Hi, crafty friends! I’m creating 2 similar cards today with the lastest release but I decided to try different ways of applying the embossing ink to discuss the differences in the methods with you. I created a YouTube video with all the details.
Let’s start with the blue/green card. First, I used an embossing folder to create the raised details and pattern for the embossing. Next, I added copic coloring to create a gradient that shows through the embossing powder enough to give some extra dimension. Last, I used the mixed media brush to paint over each balloon then add Speckled Egg and Speckled Sage to the balloons.

Once the embossing powder was heated and cooled, I added some ink blending over the balloons to create a beautiful blue background.

Last, I die cut the “happy” from a polished silver panel. I love creating masculine cards and I believe this one fits the bill perfectly.
For the next card, I started with an ink blending piece of card stock then added the embossing ink with an embossing pen. I colored all the balloons and added 2 colors of embossing powder from the Candy Buffet Trio.

The embossing pen gives more control but lighter coverage. I was faster with the embossing pen than the mixed media brush but they definitely give a slightly different look. The coverage with the brush is much thicker and gives a thicker finish.
I finished this card off with a die cut “happy” from the Fairy Clouds embossing powder in Candy Buffet Trio.
