Every Celebration Needs Some Sparkle

Hey WOW! friends…..it’s Michelle back with you sharing another colour combination featuring WOW! embossing powders. You can never have too many birthday cards, so I decided to make a birthday card that is perfect for anyone! They are filled with fabulous sparkle too, because every celebration needs some sparkle!

Every Celebrations Needs Some Sparkle

Place the balloon stencil with the largest balloon on the top left of the cardstock and start blending Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Layer the medium size balloon lower to the right and overlapping the previous one ever so slightly and ink blend with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. For the smallest balloon ink blend using Mustard Seed Distress Ink.
Go back to each of the ink blended balloons and place the stencil back over top. Use the Mixed Media Embossing Brush and start brushing on embossing ink to the top half of each of the balloons. After you add ink to the balloons, add the embossing powder to each balloon before moving on to the next and heat set the powder. Obviously sprinke on the correponding powders to the colours of the balloon. I heated from below, as they are sparkly and I didn’t want the powder to go all over.
Add the strings at the bottom of the balloons using a fine point black pen.
Add the sentiment to the right of the balloons using black ink. Be careful if you get some ink on the embossing, as it may smudge, as mine did :(.
Trim down the cardstock to 4×5.25″ and adhere to an A2 cardbase. Add a few iridescent gems near the sentiment.

This is really a perfect brithday card for anyone and it could be tailored to your recipient by simply changing the colours of the balloons. I love the sparkle that the embossing powders add to it…absolute perfection! Thank you so much for stopping by today.
