Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hello crafty friends and welcome back. I am excited to be here with the first post of what surely will be a wonderful series, full of colour…..Colour Combinations with Michelle (that`s me!) For my project today I leaned more towards the clean simple side, but still with lots of fabulous and sparkly colour! Let`s get started, shall we?

To begin I did some light ink blending on a piece of mixed media paper, which is always my go to for ink blending. I hit that with the WOW! Embossing heat tool on the low heat setting, to ensure it was fully dry as I was going to do some embossing on top of that and I didn`t want any stray bits of embossing powder sticking to any areas that may have still been a bit damp due to the ink blending. I then added a polka dot stencil over my ink blended cardstock and instead of going direct to paper with my embossing inkpad I instead used the embossing pen and added the ink through each hole in the stencil. I added some Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder to the polka dots and added heated that. I waited about 30 secs to ensure it was fully cool and then diecut the tag shape.

For each of my butterflies I stamped the 3 varying sizes of butterflies using the WOW! Embossing Ink pad and added Punch, Manuela`s Honey and Iced Teal embossing powders. Although these are not fine detail embossing powders, I think they picked up the small details well, although the antennas on the large butterfly didn`t stamp that well (purely user or stamper error), so I simply went over them using the embossing pen to bring back that detail. I then cut out the 3 images using the coordinating dies and stamped out the sentiment on white cardstock and trimmed it down. I added a little bit of yellow ink blending under the tag, to add a bit of a halo if you will, around it. It was then all added to my cardbase as well as a few iridescent bubbles to add a few extra details.

This is such a pretty combination of colours, that you can never go wrong with. I do love this combination, or a variation of as they always go perfectly. What colour combinations can you create??? The combinations are truly endless using WOW! Embossing Powders! Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have the most wonderful and colourful day!

Until next time, Michelle

Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.

My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
