Countdown To Christmas Day 13

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Welcome back for our Countdown To Christmas Day 13, and today you’ve got Tasha as your host! 🥳 I’m sharing an oh-so-fun, and totally extra design & technique…because of course I am! Teeheehee.

1. Die cut 2x larger petal sets & 1x smaller petal sets from red cardstock and press each one into your WOW Ultra Slow Embossing Ink pad. Cover with ‘Say You’ll Remember Me’ from my Reputation Trio and heat set for a gorgeous, rich red with a glossy finish that works so well on these! (Add a realistic curl to the leaves with a thin paintbrush, it’s too hard to write instructions on how without sounding insane…so just check the quick video to see 😂🙈)
2. Layer the petals up with glue only in the centre, and offset them to give a fuller bloom.
3. Emboss the flower centre in ‘Paint Me Golden’, also from Reputation Trio and adhere on the top layer.
4. Die cut 2x leaves from green cardstock and add some more depth with a darker green ink & small blending brush. Just concentrate that darker colour to the base and centre of the leaf. Slightly bend the leaves in the centre to give them some more dimension and set aside with your Poinsettia.

Making the background

1. Now, we’ll use that same ‘Paint Me Golden’ powder on the background too. (Yes, that’s really the same powder!) Cut a panel of Navy cardstock to be 4×5.25inch and drag your Embossing ink pad down the panel. You want to add more ink to the top, by pressing your ink pad directly to the panel, then drag down to give an uneven & interesting edge. Cover with ‘Paint Me Golden’ and heat set thoroughly.
2. Adhere your Poinsettia to the background, using liquid glue in the centre and foam adhesive under the petals to keep that dimension. Slot your leaves around your focal point, wherever you feel they look best.
3. For the sentiment, apply a Hero Arts Rub-On to some Neenah 80lb cardstock. Trim it into a strip and adhere to the card panel with foam adhesive.
4. Mount the whole thing on an a2 card base made from 110lb Neenah. (4.25×5.5inch)
