Hey WOW! friends! Michelle here joining you today with the Countdown To Christmas Day 17. I really hope that you have been enjoying all of the festive inspiration this far. Today I am sharing CAS card that sparkles!
I used a very festive stamp set from Scrapbook.com called Christmas Trees that features a fun layered tree image, as well as lots of shall we say, accessories for the tree lol. I decided to use the tree and decorate it with lots of sparkly bows. To start, I stamped my main tree image and the second layer in different shades of turquoise.
I added one of the bow images 6 times over the entire tree in a black ink, that is suitable for alcohol markers. To add some colour to the bows, I used my WOW! embossing pen and coloured each of the bows in. To each bow I added some Metallic Copper Sparkle Embossing Powder. I did 2 at a time so as ensure the ink didn’t dry out by the time I got to the last one, but waited to heat emboss them at the end. This way I was able to limit how much heat I had on my cardstock to minimize the warping. At this point I realized it was missing something, so I added the tree trunk and it was much better lol.
A matt was added behind it using a coordinating cardstock from the Peppermint Smooth Paper Pad from Scrapbook.com. Next I added the sentiment using Primary Ebony Fine Detail embossing powder, diecut it out and was popped up over the tree using foam adhesives. The last and finishing touch was to add more sparkle to kind of mimic the look of sparkly baubles on the tree. I used some gorgeous and oh so sparkly Meraki Sparkle Magic Crystal from Crafty Meraki for this. It was then all mounted to a top folding A2 cardbase.
