Hey, crafty friends! 👋 I am completely obsessed with embossing folders, especially when I combine them with embossing powder. The results are magical, and today I’ve got some easy and creative ways to use these tools to make multiple stunning cards. Card #2 Double Embossing magic
For the first card, I tried a technique that I’m calling double embossing, and the results are so beautiful! I started by running a plain white piece of cardstock through my die-cutting machine with a 3D embossing folder. This already creates such a gorgeous, textured background, but I wanted to take it a step further.
Here’s where the magic happens: I gently swiped a Wow embossing ink pad over the raised areas of the 3D embossed image. Next, I pour Primary Blue Topaz powder in sections. The, I pour Primary Blue Tang on the remaining areas. I heated all the powder then went in with the mixed media embossing brush to add some highlights. Once the ink was down where I wanted, I added Polished Silver over this ink and heated. This created some double embossing highlights that are gorgeous!
Card #2 Debossing with Folder
For this card, I started by prepping my plain white cardstock with antistatic powder—this is key to keeping stray embossing powder off the flat areas! Next, I applied embossing ink directly to the raised areas of the embossing folder. After running it through my die-cutting machine to create that beautiful embossed impression, I sprinkled on Primary Blue Tang and Primary Blue Topaz embossing powders. Once heated, the colors came to life, adding vibrant dimension and shine that is pressed into the panel, like a letterpress look. This gives a more defined look to the card.
