1. Using low tack tape, I tacked my foil onto the back of the panel so it wouldn’t get caught as it was pulled through the machine. I fed it into my hot Laminator. I didn’t use any kind of shim or sleeve because you really don’t need one.
2. Once it cooled down, I peeled back the plastic release sheet to reveal a gorgeously Fab Foiled panel! I didn’t get rid of the excess either because you can use it with our Solid Panel Foilers to get a whole other background!
3. Next, I moved on to making the card using that foiled panel. I picked out a Catherine Pooler ink that matched this color foil, and I went direct to paper, inking up the entire panel in just a few quick swipes! The cardstock our Foilers are printed on is perfect for this, especially when paired with Catherine Pooler inks! I used a dry cloth to buff away any excess ink sitting on the foil, then set it aside to dry before cutting or gluing it.
4. After the panel dried, I trimmed it down to give me a nice border on an A2 panel of Neenah Solar White 80lb, and I adhered it roughly to the center.
5. For my focal images, I had already stamped these adorable Alex Syberia Unicorns in black Versafine and embossed them in Clear Gloss before die cutting. The same went for the little sentiment too, which was from the same stamp set.
6. I quickly colored them with some Copic Markers that I had already picked out. I went for a soft and limited color palette that would pair nicely with the background. For the bodies, I mostly left them completely white, adding only light shadows in places before blending it out with my 00 marker.I mixed and matched between the color blends on my three images, making them cohesive while still having different looks.
7. I used a glitter gel pen for the horns and their little Cutie-marks to add some extra magic!

Assembling the card

1. I decided to add a piece of vellum to the lower portion of my card, giving my Unicorn something to ground her. I had to get a little creative with adhering the vellum since it’s not very forgiving. I adhered one of my Unicorns first with foam adhesive for dimension.
2. Then I turned the vellum over and added more adhesive directly behind the Unicorn before sticking it onto the card panel. To avoid using any other adhesive in a visible place, I adhered each of the three sides to the back. I added strips of adhesive and trimmed down the excess from each side. Cutting away some of the corners avoided having too much bulk there. I peeled the release off and folded the vellum to secure it in place, one side at a time. This gave us neat-looking edges from the front and avoided having vellum flapping about freely, risking getting torn or creased.
3. I positioned my second Unicorn to be jumping through the air, and I saved the last one for another project. I also put the sentiment on foam adhesive.
4. Lastly, to finish off the design, I used some of these Pastel Rainbow Heart Glossies, choosing three different ones that pick up on the colour scheme really well.
