Hey crafty people! It’s Tasha, and I’m excited to be joining WOW Embossing Powder & Seth Apter to celebrate their latest release of fabulous Mixed Media Embossing Powders! The Design Team and special Guests are each sharing inspiration using this gorgeous June 2024 release blog hop and you’re invited to join the party! 🥳

This is the card which I originally made for the release, but for reasons unknown even to me, I never recorded it! 🤦🏻♀️ SO, today, let’s make a second version, using the same supplies as the original but actually record it this time! 😜
June 2024 Mixed Media Release
- Start by placing your stamp face up on a glass mat. Ink it up using four different ink cubes, applying the colors in strips without much overlap for now. This will be blended in the next step.
- Use a brayer to blend the ink on the stamp. This smooths out the ink and blends the transitions between colors. Roll off any excess ink onto a panel of Neenah 80lb cardstock to use in a future project.
- Lay an A2 panel of Neenah 80lb cardstock on top of your inked stamp. Add another sheet of paper on top and rub over the entire surface to ensure a good ink transfer. The result will be an imperfect but stylish mixed media background.
- For the images, use a Washi Sheet or Vellum. Place the sheet on your MISTI and stamp a Lily bouquet image onto the matte side with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Add embossing powder, making sure to mix it well before use. Heat the powder from below to start, then finish from above once it begins to melt.
- Stamp your sentiments onto Neenah Solar White cardstock with the same ink and emboss them with Clear Gloss powder.
- Position your florals on the left side of your card panel first, as they will dictate the placement of other elements. Follow with the long, thin tag die cut.
- Stick the sentiments straight down with liquid glue instead of foam adhesive. Finish the card by adding a cute little butterfly for a charming final touch.
