Hey friends, how are you? Today, I am most definitely “exploring embossing” as I have tried something completely new for me, and ventured into mixed media! So, in today’s YouTube video I am playing with texture – creating a mixed media tag.
Playing With Texture – Creating a Mixed Media Tag
Project instructions:
- Die-cut a tag shape from white card.
- Apply embossing ink through a stencil (I used a small domed foam and the MFT Stamps Basket Weave stencil).
- Apply white embossing powder over the tag and heat set.
- Sprinkle shimmer powders over the tag and spritz with water or shimmer spray.
- While the tag is drying, create four embossed panels by applying embossing ink to each panel, covering with each of the four powders in the Building Blocks quad, and heat setting.
- Die cut three butterflies from the heat embossed panels (I used these Lawn Fawn dies), and some butterfly bodies from the asphalt (black) panel.
- Assemble the butterflies with liquid glue, and add to the tag.
- Trim a pre-cut sentiment and add with thin foam tape.
- Finish with a few black gems.
