Snowflakes that WOW!

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey WOW! friends….it’s Michelle back on the blog with a trio of gorgeous snowflakes! I wanted to go nice and simple, to allow these esnowflakes and the gorgeous embossing powders and mixed media additive to shine. Sometimes you don’t need to over complicate things, especially when you have some amazing powders from WOW! to work with. Let’s gets started and I’ll show you how to create some Snowflakes that WOW!

Snowflakes That WOW!

  • Silver Glass applied over heat-safe double-sided adhesive on a die cut snowflake.

  1. Cut out 2 of the snowflakes from white cardstock. Add some double sided adhesive to a 3rd piece of white cardstock amd cut out the 3rd snowflake from this.
  2. Go direct to your embossing ink pad with the 2 pieces of white cardstock and sprinkle on Vegas Gold and Tarnished Teal embossing powders. Heat set with your heat embossing tool. Repeat this process with both snowflakes.
  3. On the Tarnished Teal embossed snowflake, ink up the snowflake a 3rd time using the embossing ink pad and sprinke on Frosted Glass embossing powder. Heat set this.
  4. Peel the backing off the adheisve backed piece of cardstock and sprinke on Silver Glass MM Additive. Using your finger, press the silver glass into the snowflake, ensuring that you get an even coverage.
  5. On a piece of watercolour paper, ink blend Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink, fading off towards the middle. Add some flecks of gold watercolour. Trim down the ink blended background to 4×5.25″. Adhere to an A2 cardbase.
  6. Adhere the 3 snowflakes over the ink blending using glue.
  7. Add a sentiment using foam tape.

I love the simplicity of this! It really allows the embossing powders and the Silver Glass MM Additive to shine. And adding the Frosted Glass powder over the embossing, lends a subtle frosted finish to it…perfect for a snowflake! I really love how these turned out! get out those dies and add some WOW! to them! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some way and I wish you all the most wonderful and colourful day! Until next time 🙂

Michelle Burnier

Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.

My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
