Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hi friends…it’s Michelle back with a new and very exciting post today! Today is release day at WOW! Embossing and they are expanding their Mixed media powders, with 2 brand new Quads inspired by Seth Apter! Yup, that’s right…..they are releasing their very first Quads and there are 2 of them! So exciting!!! For my project today, I have used Building Blocks. These powders were designed to evoke the rugged and industrial charm of traditional building powders. These are gorgeous powders and have amazing texture to them. Although these are additions to the line of mixed media powders, I wanted to use them in a more clean way, to show their versatility. Let’s get started shall we and I’ll show you the Building Blocks for heat embossing.
The Building Blocks for Heat Embossing
- Cut 2 pieces of white cardstock to 4.25×5.5″ in half, so you have 4 pieces. Go direct to the embossing ink pad with each of the pieces and cover with ink. Sprinkle each of the 4 powders on the 4 pieces of cardstock….Brick, Asphalt, Granite and Concrete. Heat these from underneath to ensure you don’t lose any bits of embossing powder, as they have sparkle to them.
- Diecut a large piece of white cardstock with the background die and then each of the 4 embossed pieces. Make sure to get 2 full rows of the diecut squares for each of the embossed panels. Keep each of the diecut pieces in their respective colours in piles, so as not to mix them up…will make it easier lol. Be sure to also keep all of the white diecut pieces and not just the background panel. Adhere the white diecut background to your cardbase.
- In the upper left corner place the square diecuts, starting with Granite, then Asphalt, Brick and Concrete using liquid adhesive. In the spot next to it, place the negative embossed diecuts in the white square and so forth. Continue this pattern until the end. You should have 2 rows of the repeating pattern. On a side note…..I love the subtle sparkle these have! They remind me of the sparkle that asphalt has in the sun…true to its name!
- Stamp your sentiment at the bottom in black ink.
Thank you so much for stopping by today for a new and fabulous colour combo featuring one of the brand new Quads. Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.
My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
