Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!
Hey WOW! friends…..it’s Michelle back with you today sharing a simple celebration card that definitely has that million dollar sparkle! The secret…using the new duo Million Dollar Duo! This is a gorgeous duo, containing a beautiful new gold powder and the other is a mixed media additive, that you can add to so many embossing powders, pastes, even use in shaker cards! They are like little pieces of sparkling diamonds (but without the price tag that diamonds carry lol). Let’s get started and I’ll show you how I created a Million Dollar Celebration card!
A Million Dollar Celebration
- Cut out a large balloon from white cardstock. Ink smoosh the diecut balloon with your embossing inkpad. Sprinkle on Ebony Ultra High embossing powder, or if you don’t have that you can also use regular ebony powder, but be sure to emboss it 2 or 3 times, to get that smooth and super glossy embossed finish. Sprinkle on the bottom half of the balloon Silver Glass from the Million Dollar Duo. Be sure to heat the balloon from below, so as not to blow away the silver glass. As this is not a powder it will not melt the pieces, but rather it will melt into the black powder, retaining its shape and sparkle.
- Cut out the bow and balloon string and then heat emboss using the Vegas Gold powder from the Million Dollar Duo. Emboss this 2x to get that same perfectly smooth finish.
- Cut a piece of white cardstock to 3.75×5.25″. Cut a strip of black and white striped paper and attach to the left side of the white cardstock, to have it measure 4″ wide. Stamp the sentiment on the lower right hand side of the white cardstock.
- Attach the balloon, string and bow to the left side of the sentiment and attach it all to a light grey coloured A2 cardbase using foam tape.
And that’s it! A simple celebration card that definitely brings the sparkle using this gorgeous new duo! The new gold is a perfect addtion to the family of golds that WOW already carries and well, the Silver Glass is unlike anything else out there. You just have to try it!
