Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!
Hello everyone, it’s Emilie here back sharing another card that uses one of the newly released trios, Candy Buffet. These powders inspired me to dig out my fairy stamps and begin creating this card that is full of sparkle.
Candy Buffet
I began by taking a flower stencil and blending embossing ink through it, onto white cardstock. I then removed the stencil and sprinkled Fairy Clouds over the top and heat set. This created the background to the card.
Next I stamped the fairies in black ink then embossed them with clear embossing powder, this helps to stop my alcohol pens from bleeding over the lines when colouring, which I used to colour parts of the fairies. For the wings I coloured them with my embossing pen to add embossing ink, then added Rock Crystals. For the skirts I added Grapefruit Fizzos by adding embossing ink with the embossing pen. This gave the fairies some sparkle.
The scene behind the fairies I created by die cutting a scalloped circle from white cardstock, then with a stencil I ink blended different shades of purple to create a cloudy sky. With purple ink I stamped the flowers and sentiment.
Lastly, to finish this card, I cut out a square frame from white cardstock and embossed it with Rock Crystals, which would fit over the flower background to make a border. I then glued it to my card base with liquid glue. I raised the scene and fairies up from the background with foam squares.
