Create Twinkling Lights with WOW! Embossing Powders

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey WOW! friends…..it’s Michelle back with a new project that brings all the sparkle! Who doesn’t love to see all the twinkling lights at Christmas! I found 5 sparkly powders that are perfect for the Christmas season (and just happen to be part of the Christmas Crackers Collection that is on promo right now until Dec.17) ……2 traditional red and green and then of course 3 gorgeous metallics! Let’s get started, shall we and I’ll show you how to Create Twinkling Lights with WOW! Embossing Powders.

Christmas Lights that Twinkle and WOW!

  1. Pick 5 embossing powders. I used Red Glitz, Green Glitz, Metallic Copper Sparkle, Metallic Gold Sparkle and Metallic Platinum Sparkle. Cut 5 small squares of white card stock and ink smoosh with your slow drying embossing ink pad. Heat emboss each powder on a piece of card stock and heat set using your embossing tool from below the card stock, so as not to blow away any of the sparkle.
  2. Using the light bulb die, cut 2 times from each heat embossed card stock. Cut out 4 of the string garlands and the small bases of the bulbs from black card stock.
  3. Adhere the black bulb base to each of the lights and cut out a very small piece of white cardstock for the back of the bulbs. Add the small piece of white cardstock to the back of the embossed bulbs.
  4. With a piece of white cardstock cut to 4.25×5.5″, add some texture to it by using a BetterPress plate (but no ink) or an embossing folder. Trim it down to 4×5.25″.
  5. Adhere the garland strings using liquid adhesive to the embossed background. Add the light bulbs, alternating colours. Trim any excess that is hanging over the edge of the card stock. Add to your A2 card base and add a heat embossed using Ebony Super Fine powder.

I love all the sparkle that this brings….it’s like the lights are twinkling! The simplicity of this is overshadowed by the gorgeous sparkle of these powders! I love how easily this came together (of course after I narrowed down my powder choices lol). WOW really has the perfect powders for any project….something for every crafter! Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope I have helped to inspire you. I wish you all a crafty and colourful day! Until next time 🙂

Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.

My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
