Today I’m excited to share a dimensional shadow box card created using WOW! Embossing Powders, embossing glitters, and sparkle finishes. This interactive card features a heart-shaped aperture cut into the front, giving a soft shadow effect and elegant depth. I built mine with a romantic wedding theme, layering embossed florals, foliage, and sparkly heart frames to create texture and shine that catch the light beautifully.
In this post, I’ll walk you through how the card came together; from cutting the aperture and creating the embossed elements to assembling the layers for a beautiful finished design.
A closer look at what’s happening in this card – watch the video above for the complete tutorial.
• Cut a heart-shaped aperture into the card front and reinforce it with an internal shadow box base for dimensional interest.
• Emboss florals and foliage using WOW! Embossing Powders, embossing glitters, and sparkle finishes, then die-cut and shape them for a layered focal arrangement.
• Add triple embossed sparkly fillers.
• Add accents with an additional glittery heart and a sparkly border to enhance shine and elegance.
