Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!
Hey everyone, today I’ll be sharing several ways to use heat embossing with embossing folders. I’ve got a few examples to share with you, to really stretch those supplies, so let’s get into it!
Heat Embossing with Embossing Folders
Instructions
- Lightly swipe or pounce either the embossed or debossed side of your embossing folder with embossing ink.
- Dust your cardstock with anti-static powder and place inside your embossing folder.
- Run the embossing folder through your die-cutting machine, using the manufacturer’s suggested die-cutting sandwich for embossing folders. The embossing ink will now be pressed into your card panel (either on the raised area or the indented area, depending on which side of the folder you inked up).
- Pour your chosen embossing powder or glitter over the side of the card covered in embossing ink. Brush away any excess with a dry paintbrush.
- Heat set with your heat tool.
- You can now use your 3D heat embossed panel in anyway you like to create a card! In my first two examples, I heat embossed and die-cut a bold sentiment and added it to the panel. For my second two examples, I added characters that I’d stamped and coloured with Copic markers, as well as heat embossed sentiments.
