Ink Smooshing Fun!

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Wow have recently brought out their amazing Polished Gold embossing powder in a super fine powder, which I was delighted with, as it will be perfect for sentiments and fine details. I inked up a floral stamp from Studio Katia (which I think has been discontinued now, but is very similar to this one) with embossing ink, and stamped it on to some white cardstock.

I added the superfine gold powder and set with my heat tool – the image came out so crisp and perfect!

Next, I applied three colours of distress oxide ink directly to my glass mat (mermaid lagoon, fossilized amber and picked raspberry) and sprayed them with water. I first picked up the picked raspberry with a piece of acetate and smooshed it down over the heat embossed image. I continued to pick up more ink and smoosh it until I was happy with the coverage. I then repeated the process with the yellow and blue inks, so that where the colours overlapped, it created a rainbow.

When the ink was dry, I cut a black panel measuring 4″ x 5.25″, then trimmed the ink smooshed panel slightly smaller, and matted it onto the black panel. I added both to a white A2 card base.

To finish the card, I heat embossed the sentiment in the same gold powder, fussy cut and added it with foam tape.
