heat embossing with stencils

Today, I’ve got a little project for you featuring some stencilling with your embossing inks and powders! Wow currently has an offer on all Quads, Trios and Duos (use code WOWQTD15 to get 15% off!), so I thought I’d use the Celestial Harmony duo for my project today.

Instructions

Secure a panel of Wow Superior Smooth card stock to the reverse of the stencil using low tack tape.
Use an ink dauber to apply embossing ink through the stencil – pounce directly down through the stencil rather than using circular motions, to avoid embossing ink getting underneath the stencil where you don’t want it. Only ink up patches of the stencil, as we’ll be covering the rest later.
Remove the stencil and add Violet Aurora embossing powder over the cardstock. Tap off the excess and heat set with your. embossing gun on the highest setting – heat from underneath to avoid the glitter and other elements in the powder being blown away.
Line the stencil back up over the cardstock, and ink up the remaining areas.
Repeat the steps above with Opal Glow embossing powder, and heat set.
For any stray embossing powder, you can flick this away with a dry paintbrush before heat setting. After heat setting, try using a white eraser to rub away any stray bits of embossing.
Stamp the sentiment above the stencil – I used the Fur Friend Stamp set from The Sassy Club, and stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Add foam tape to the reverse of the panel to help with any warping, then add panel to an A2 panel of holographic cardstock. Use liquid glue to attach to a pre-folded A2 card.
Add the pre-coloured Furby character (from the same stamp set) using foam squares.
