Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey WOW! friends…..it`s Michelle with you today sharing a project made using Frosted Glacier, from the Earthly Marvels Collection, which is the latest release from WOW! Embossing and Brennan Keane. This is a beautiful light blue powder with flecks of white throughtout. It has an icy blue feeling to it, as the name suggests, ,like a Frosted Glacier.Let’s get started started and I’ll show you how to Make Your sSencils pop with WOW!
Make Your Stencils Pop with WOW!
- Cut a piece of white cardstock to 6×6 or large enough to cover the entirety of the stencil.
- I used a Plaid Turnabout stencil that has 4 different layers to it, if you will. Line up the first layer and stamp using a light blue ink, using a stamp positioner like the Misti.
- Keep your stamp in place and rotate your cardstock 90 degrees clockwise and stamp the next layer using a slightly darker blue ink. Still keeping the stamp in place and rotating the cardstock 90 degrees clockwise, stamp using a darker blue ink than the previous 2 layers.
- Still with your stamp in place go over the entire piece with an anti-static powder. You don’t normally need to with WOW! powders, but as the cardstock has been handled more than usual with your fingers, it is best to take a little extra measure to prevent unwanted powder.
- Turn the cardstock one last time 90 degrees and ink up the stamp using your slow drying embossing ink pad. Remove the cardstock and sprinkle on the embossing powder. Heat using your heat tool.
- choose what part of the background you want to showcase and trim it down to 4×5.25″.
- Heat emboss a piece of white cardstock using the same Frosted Glacier embossing powder, large enough for the hello diecut or your chosen sentiment. Once cooled diecut the hello. Cut out the same hello from black cardstock for the shadow layer.
- Stamp the smaller sub-sentiment in black ink on white cardstock and trim down.
- Adhere your plaid background to an A2 sized cardbase using foam tape. Add the black shadow layer of the diecut hello and adhere the embossed hello slightly off centered? to allow the black shadow to poke out. Add the sub-sentiment with foam tape.

Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.
My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
