Mixed Media Book Marks

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hello Lovelies! It’s Aditi here and I’m back with another Off The Page Mixed Media Project for you’ll! Today we are creating simple book marks. I love reading books, and I never took to Kindle. I still love the feeling of a paperback, flipping the pages and of course book marks!

Here’s a slideshow of the Bookmarks:

I wanted to create something simple and breezy. I went monochrome for mine, but you can mix them up. I chose acrylic paints for the base, spreading them with a brayer. I stamped and embossed the quotes in the centre. I then stamped and embossed the feathers using colours keeping with the monochrome vibe. On one book mark, I partially die cut the feather for a pointed top. I love the pop of the embossing powders on the pastel backgrounds. I did go dark and earthy with the Cheddar and Copper bookmark to show you how it looks across a variety of colour palettes. I picked a simple stamp- the feather, to create a repetitive pattern all around, and that works for these bookmarks.
