The Perfect Autumn palette

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey friends….it’s Michelle back with you sharing a fun Autumn themed wreath card with an easy heat embossed background. This is made with only heat embossing….lots and lots of heat embossing! Let’s get started shall we and I’ll show you what colours I used to create the perfect Autumn palette!

The Perfect Autumn Palette

  1. Using your slow drying embossing ink pad and a turnabout stamp, start stamping the first layer on a piece of cardstock cut to 6×6, big enough for the turnabout stamp and jig. Sprinkle on Earthtone Honey EP and heat set it.
  2. Turn the cardstock going clockwise and continue stamping and adding the other 3 colours…..Aurora Borealis, Primary Royal Purple and Kiln from the new Heritage Quad. Heat set after each powder is added. Ensure your heat tool is heated up well to try and prevent any warping of the cardstock, as we are doing alot of embossing.
  3. Trim this piece down to 3.75×5″ and add a few matte gold half pearls.
  4. Diecut a few of the foliage from the same dieset as the turnabout stamp and heat emboss using Kiln, Pumice from the Heritage Quad and Metallic Gold Rich.
  5. Heat emboss your sentiment using the Metallic Gold Rich and diecut it.
  6. Arrange the diecut foliage under the sentiment and add all to your heat embossed piece using foam squares.
  7. Swipe your embossing ink pad randomly directly on the front of the cardbase. Sprinkle on the Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder. If you find you have too much of the cardbase covered, take a small paintbrush and remove some of it. Heat emboss your cardbase.
  8. Add your heat embossed background to your cardbase using foam tape.

I think this is such a great colour palette for Autumn. WOW! has so many gorgeous colours to chose from and the new powders that just came out are truly perfect for this time of the year. Dig through your embossing powders and see what colour combinations you can come up with. Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope I have helped to inspire you. I wish you all a crafty and colourful day! Until next time 🙂

Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.

My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
