Tropical Cardmaking with the NEW Neon Dayz Release

Hi everyone, it’s Katarina here, and today I’m sharing a bright and bold tropical-inspired card featuring the stunning new Neon Dayz embossing powder collection from WOW! Embossing Powder together with the gorgeous Hibiscus Layering Die Set from Lisa Horton Crafts.

For this project I really wanted to explore how intense neon colours can completely transform a design, especially when paired with a dramatic black background. The contrast makes the colours absolutely glow and gives the entire card a vibrant summer feel with lots of impact and dimension.

Each colour has its own unique intensity, but together they create the perfect tropical palette. I used the powders across the layered hibiscus flowers and leaves to create lots of depth while still keeping the design cohesive and balanced.

The black background really allows the neon embossing to shine. Against darker cardstock, the powders almost appear illuminated, making every embossed detail stand out beautifully. I also added splatter details to the background to help tie all the colours together and add extra movement across the card design.

To frame the focal point, I added a clean white die cut frame and sentiment. This helps break up the bold background while still allowing the florals to remain the star of the project. A few coordinating gems finish everything off with a little extra sparkle.

Die cut the layered hibiscus flowers and leaves using the Hibiscus Layering Die Set from Lisa Horton Crafts.

Apply embossing ink to the die cut pieces and heat emboss them using the Neon Dayz powders in Lime Zest, Electric Pulse, Shockwave, and Inferno.

Layer the floral elements together to create dimension and arrange them onto a black card panel.

Add ink and metallic splatter details across the background for extra texture and interest.

Die cut a white frame and sentiment, then adhere them using foam pads for added dimension.

Finish the card with embellishments and a neon embossed border to tie the design together.
