Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey crafty friends…..Michelle with you today with more colour inspiration to share! Have you seen that there is a new and fabulous trio released at WOW!?! It’s a gorgeous and fun new trio called Twist and Shout, that works differently on light and dark cardstock, so I tried to use both in my project to show how fabulous they are!

I started by heat embossing all 3 powders on A2 sized pieces of both white and dark cardstock. Next they were diecut using the small triangle die as part of my cover die set 10 times, so as to ensure that I had enough pieces cut for my finished design. I took a piece of A2 sized (4.25×5.5″) white cardstock and diecut it with the cover die and then trimmed it down to 4×5.25″, so to give a bit of a border on the card front.

Now came putting the pieces of the “puzzle” together lol. In the guidelines laid out using the pierced design, I added each of my triangles using a liquid adhesive. I first went in with Orange Twist and placed a pieced embossed on dark cardstock and then a white heat embossed triangle back to back. Next I continued by adding a white cardstock triangle, then 2 dark back to back and so forth. I continued with this pattern until I reached the edge of the cardstock.
Next I did the same pattern using Lime Twist and then Lemon Twist. I make 2 clusters of this repeating pattern, but made sure to leave a row of white triangles in between the 2 clusters, to break it up a bit. Once they were all added, I cut off the overhang from the top and bottom of the diecut piece.

I added my diecut piece to my A2 4.25×5.5″ cardbase. The large sentiment was heat embossed in black using Primary Ebony embossing powder. The smaller sub-sentiment was stamped using a black ink. They were both added using some foam adhesive, to give them some dimension.

And there you have it! The powders in the new Twist and Shout Trio are so fun to use and I love how differently they act on light and dark cardstock. I think they even have a cool retro feel to them! Head on over to the shop and grab yourself a set of these….they will most definitely be a welcome addition to your embossing powder collection! I hope this helps to motivate you and get out all of the sparkle…it is the season after all! Thank you so very much for stopping by and I hope that I have helped to inspire you in some small way. I wish you all the most wonderful and sparkly day!
Until next time, Michelle 🙂
