exploring embossing: peekaboo embossing

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey guys, how are you? I hope you managed to bag some bargains on Teal Tuesday! Have you seen the fun new trio that has just been released – Twist & Shout? I had fun making some bright and cheerful projects as a bit of a change from all the Christmas cards I’ve been making!

I started with a panel of white cardstock (A2 size), and I die cut the word “HAPPY” using MFT’s Essential Alpha dies. I ran the panel through my die cutting machine with MFT’s stitched rectangle dies, to give a nice stitched border, then stamped the “birthday” sub-sentiment from MFT’s Happy Happy Birthday stamp set underneath.

Next, I took a second panel of white card stock, and behind where the word “HAPPY” was die cut, I inked the area up in embossing ink. I poured each of the colours from the trio over the area – about a third each – and heat set. I then added the die-cut panel over the top with tape runner.

To finish, I added some colour co-ordinated gems and popped my panel on to a card base.

I hope you like the clean and simple look! I love the pop of bright colour peeking out from behind the die-cutting. See you again soon for some more Exploring Embossing!

I live in Chester, UK, with my husband and two young daughters, and I work as a travel lawyer – so life is pretty full on! When I’m not busy with work, kids and family life, I love nothing more than spending time in my craft room. Cardmaking is my passion but I also love planning, memory keeping and sewing.

I love to explore new places, but I’m always happiest when I’m home!
