WOW! Fall Watercolor Card

Hello WOW Friends! I’m excited to join you again for another Embossing Elegance post. Today I’ve got another easy watercolor card to share. I keep returning to this simple technique because it takes all of the stress out of watercolor, and the fall leaves of this stamp set just had to be finished in an organic, flowing technique.

I began by placing the stamp in the MISTI, inked it with WOW Embossing Ink, stamped on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock, and heat embossed with Metallic Gold Super Fine powder. Then I lined up the second half of the wreath builder, and repeated the stamping and embossing process. Next I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and added a couple of leaves.

I used watercolor markers and a simple watercolor technique to finish all of the leaves and the purple background. I finished the card with some gold watercolor splatters, a couple of flat-backed beads, and layered on a card base.

Have you tried this technique? If you have been scared to try watercoloring, I recommend starting with this embossing technique as it helps contain the colors so that they don’t run and mix easily. It takes all of the stress out of watercoloring for beginners. Love and crafty hugs!

My sister first introduced me to cardmaking about nine years ago, and it has grown over the years to involve working with several different companies on design teams, and even to hosting/organizing my own annual craft retreat, the Nashville Craft Retreat.

I love teaching and inspiring other crafters to be confident in their art, and building a community of life-long crafty friends. I am thrilled to join the awesome WOW! team, and share my love of all things heat embossed!
