Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hey WOW! friends….it’s Michelle back with you today with a new and as always, fabulous colour combinaton from WOW! Are you a traiditional or non-traditional Christmas (yes I know it is still technically summer, but it’s never too early to get a head start) kind of person? I am definitely a traditional red, gold and green kind of gal, so of course I had to pull out the most traditional of embossing powdercolour palettes and get started. Keep reading for a Traditional WOW! Christmas!
A Traditional WOW! Christmas
- Die cut the the large Noel sentiment and set aside. Ink smoosh 3 pieces of white cardstock, large enough to cover the Noel previosuly diecut, by going direct to your cardstock with your embossing ink pad., ensuring you get full coverage of the ink. Heat emboss 1 piece using Metallic Gold Rich Pale, 1 piece using Primary Apple Red and the 3rd using Primary Evergreen. Heat them all from underneath to get a really smooth finish. Repeat the process a second time for the red and green to ensure a smooth, glossy and really deep colour.
- Diecut the second shadow layer of the sentiment from the embossed gold piece. For the red and green, diecut the detailed Noel letters from each. After cutting the red and green panels, be sure to keep all of the small pieces that you remove from the letters, as these will be used to pop back in the same spots, but on the white piece diecut initially.
- Adhere the white diecut Noel to the gold embossed shadow layer using liquid adhesive. Add a small amount of glue and add in each small red and green diecut piece, alternating to make sure you have a pattern of red and green. Place a large acrylic block or the cutting plates from your diecutting machine (just something heavy enough) on it to help to adhere it all for a few minutes.
- Heat emboss on a piece of white cardstock a snowflake background using Opaque Vanilla White embossing powder. Trimt his down to 4×5.25″. Add the Noel diecut piece to your snowflake background using liquid adhesive and add to your white A2 (4.25×5.5″) cardbase.
- Heat emboss the smaller subsentiment on red cardstock using the same Vanilla White embossing powder as the snowflake background.

Michelle Burnier
Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.
My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
