Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hi friends….it’s Michelle back with you with a new and fabulous colour combination. Instead of just doing a 2 or 3 colour combination today, I thought I would bring you the entire rainbow! That’s right…..today we are making a WOW! rainbow! I thought it was only fitting as they do colour so well and really though, who doesn’t love a rainbow! Let’s get to it, shall we!
A WOW! Rainbow
- Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4.25×5.5″ and secure your stencil to the front and make sure it is centered. Be sure to add some tape to the back of it on either side of the cardstock, to hold the paper in place on the stencil, as we don’t want it to move around.
- Make sure you have all of your embossing powders ready to go and lids off before you start the next step.
- Take your embossing ink pad and go direct to the entire stencil. Do this several times to ensure a really good and even coverage. You want to make sure you get the cardstock well inked up, as you want the ink to remain wet on the paper for a slightly longer period than usual, if that makes sense.
- Start to sprinkle on your powders, one at a time, in rainbow order. I used Primary Apple Red, Orange Twist, Wheatfields, Lime Twist, Primary Blue Topaz, Primary Indigo and Lavender Fields. After each powder is added, be sure to put any excess back in their respective jars right away and try not to get any mixed up,, as I did lol. Heat set and trim down 1/8″ on all 4 sides, so it 1/4″ smaller than the original size.
- Stamp the sentiment in Onyx Black Versafine Ink and add Clear Gloss Embossing powder. Cut this out using a circle die.
- Die cut a larger circle to layer under it and ink smoosh the cardstock with the embossing ink pad, then sprinkle on the same powders, but do it in the reverse order as the stencilled embossing. Cut out a 3rd circle from black cardstock, ever so slightly larger than the embossed rainbow circle. Layer all 3 diecut circles together and add some foam tape and popup in the middle of the stencilled background. Add all of this to the white A2 cardbase.
Using stencils with your embossing powders is so fu….I love using them together! I had so much fun going through my rainbow of WOW! embossing powders for this fun, bright and rainbow-tastic (is that a word? lol) card! They truly do have a rainbow of fabulous coloured embossing powders! We’d love to see your WOW! rainbow and don’t forget to tag us on social media! Have fun with all the colours! Thank you so much for stopping by today and I wish you all the most wonderful and colourful day! Until next time 🙂

Michelle Burnier
Hello…..my name is Michelle and I’m a Canadian girl living in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland with my Swiss husband and 2 cats. I love all things crafty, shiny and glittery! Besides my love for papercrafting, I also enjoy crocheting and making felt flowers.
My papercrafting journey began about 20 years ago when I walked into my little local stamp and scrapbooking store to make a scrapbook album for my parents’ 20th wedding anniversary. I eventually moved on to cardmaking and haven’t looked back since.
