Bold Blooms & Monochrome Texture - WOW Embossing Powder

Hi everyone, it’s Katarina here, and today I’m sharing a bold and dramatic floral thank you card featuring some gorgeous WOW! Embossing Powder favourites, including two vibrant shades from the NEW Neon Dayz collection. For this project, I wanted to create something with plenty of contrast. The monochrome, heavily textured background using WOW! One hundred and one creates a striking backdrop for the vibrant pink and orange flowers, while the earthy green leaves and touches of gold bring everything together. I also used my WOW! Changers on the background, which add another dimension to the embossing and help create that gorgeous textured effect.

I’ve created a full step-by-step video tutorial showing you exactly how I made this card, including how I created the background, embossed the flowers and used the WOW! Changers to add extra sparkle and texture.

Creating the Card

1. Start by creating the monochrome background using One Hundred & One WOW! Embossing Powder. The contrasting effect creates a beautiful dramatic base for the bright floral design.

2. Die cut the different flower elements from cardstock, ready to emboss and layer. Apply embossing ink to the flower pieces and cover them with Shockwave and Inferno from the Neon Dayz collection. Add the WOW! Changers to create that gorgeous sparkling, textured finish before heat embossing. Once the embossed pieces have cooled, layer the different flower elements together to create beautiful dimensional blooms. The combination of the two Neon Dayz combined with Changers colours creates lots of contrast and interest. Apply embossing ink to the die-cut leaves and cover with Earthtone Olive. Heat emboss until smooth and melted, then allow to cool.

3. Arrange the flowers and leaves onto the monochrome background, creating a full and dimensional floral display. Add the gold elements to bring another touch of warmth and elegance to the design.

4. Heat emboss the THANK YOU sentiment using White WOW! Embossing Powder and position it within the floral arrangement.

5. Once everything is securely adhered, check the arrangement and add any final details to complete this bold and sparkly floral design.

Final Thoughts

I absolutely love how this card came together. The dramatic monochrome background creates such a beautiful contrast against the vibrant Shockwave and Inferno flowers, while the Earthtone Olive leaves help to balance all that colour.

The addition of the WOW! Changers to the flowers is one of my favourite parts. They add that extra sparkle and texture that catches the light beautifully and really brings the dimensional blooms to life.
