Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Did you enjoy my Glue Stick Polka Dots video a little while back, but don’t have a glue stick in your stash? Here’s an alternative way to create a similar effect 😀 A really simple technique for a nice simple background to a quick Birthday card! Enjoy! Christine xxx
Step By Step Tutorial
- Take a piece of 10×13 cm white card, grab an ink dauber and some PVA glue (I used the Jamie Rodger’s Craft glue, but any white glue will work!) and I know we all have our favourite glue in our stash.
- Squeeze some glue out onto a piece of non-stick, or onto your glass mat, and load up your ink dauber, then begin to add glue polka dots onto your card, I suggest filling half the card to begin with.
- Add on your Buttercup Blossom Embossing Powder, tip off the excess and decant back into your pot, then continue to fill the rest of the background with more glue polka dots.
- Once the panel is covered in dots, add Buttercup Blossom Embossing Powder to the rest, tip off the excess, then heat set! You want to heat set on the lowest setting from above so you’re not overly making the glue bubble, but you’re getting the powder to melt.
- Once your simple polka dot background is done, we just need to add a sentiment, I used a ‘Happy Birthday To You’ Circular sentiment die, shadowing a white die-cut with yellow and adding it onto a vellum backing piece, but feel free to use whatever kind of sentiment you like!
- I also added a couple of Creative Expressions Wordies too to extend and personalise my sentiment and I added my finished panel onto a 10.5 x 13.5 cm top folding white card blank.
