Gold metallic card using Changers powders

Today, I’m going to show you some of the different ways you can change up your embossing powders to really get the most out of them, using Wow Changers. You can add texture, glisten or sheen to any powder in your stash to create an entirely new look!

In this post, I’ll give you simple step-by-step instructions to create this geometric, metallic card using Changers powders, but for all the detail, please do join me over on YouTube, where I have a full process video!

Instructions: Metallic Changers card

  1. Ink up some scrap cardstock with embossing ink, then pour over Metallic Gold Pale Rich embossing powder. Heat set using your heat tool.
  2. Mix up some of the gold embossing powder with one of the Changers powders (sheen, glisten or texture). I used about equal amounts of each powder, and I mixed them up in an empty Wow jar, using a metallic spoon to ensure the anti-static treatment in the powders & jars is not compromised. You can add more of the Changers for a more dramatic effect, and less for a more subtle change.
  3. Ink up another piece of cardstock with embossing ink, add the Changers mixture, and heat set.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 with each of the other two Changers powders.
  5. Using some nesting circle dies, die cut four sizes of circle from the four pieces of heat embossed cardstock we have created.
  6. Cut the circles in half with a guillotine (tip: use the ruler measurements on the guillotine to help you cut at the half way point).
  7. Arrange the semi-circles on top of each other with the largest at the bottom. On one set of semi-circles, orient all the circles to the left (with the straight edge at the top) and on the other, orient them to the right (with the straight edge on the bottom). You can adhere them with foam tape for extra dimension.
  8. Adhere the semi-circles to a piece of neutral cardstock measuring 5″ x 3.75″ using tape runner or liquid glue, so they form a circle.
  9. Heat emboss a sentiment on to some white cardstock using the same gold powder, trim down to a thin strip and adhere across the centre of the circle.
  10. Add the card panel to an A2 white card base.

Hey! I’m Jayne, or you may know me as Card Days’ Night!

I live in Chester, UK, with my husband and two young daughters, and I work as a travel lawyer – so life is pretty full on! When I’m not busy with work, kids and family life, I love nothing more than spending time in my craft room. Cardmaking is my passion but I also love planning, memory keeping and sewing.

I love to explore new places, but I’m always happiest when I’m home!
