Hi WOW! friends….it’s Michelle back with you with a fun 2 for 1 today! For my project today I used the gorgeous new Baked Clay Trio inspired by Seth Apter. I had only planned on creating 1 project but I just couldn’t bear to throw all the leftover pieces away. Let’s get to it and I’ll show you how to Transform Your Leftover Embossing Pieces!
Card #1
- Heat emboss 3 separate pieces of cardstock with each of the 3 embossing powders, large enough to cut out your shaped dies. I used a hexagon that has a small outline die and I cut 3 of each.
- Using matte gold cardstock, cut the same hexagon dies along with the small outline. Cut enough as there are heat embossed pieces. Separate the small outline piece from the large hexagons and set aside.
- Arrange the diecuts on your white cardstock cut to 4″ x 5.25″ allowing enough room in between each for the gold border. A tip here…once I have them all placed down exactly how I want, I cut a piece of Glad Press ‘N Seal and press it on top. This allows them to be picked up all together exactly how you want, apply glue to the back of them and place them all back in place. This also works really well for floral arrangements. Apply your glue and adhere to the white cardstock and trim any overhang.
- Once all the hexagons are placed back down, apply some glue to each of the matte gold borders and apply around each of the heat embossed diecuts. Place something over top to apply some pressure to help them adhere.
- Heat emboss your sentiment in gold on black cardstock and trim it down. Add your sentiment using foam tape to your background and adhere to your A2 cardbase.
Card #2:
- Cut an A2 cardbase from a piece of off white cardstock. Using 6 of the matte gold hexagons (the outlines were used in the previous card), apply these on the top and bottom of your cardbase in the landscape orientation. Adhere using adhesive.
- Using the border/outlines of the heat embossed hexagons from the previous card, place 2 of the Burnished Earth over the middle of the top hexagons where they meet allowing them to overlap and repeat this on the bottom ones using Weathered Rose. Take the 3 Dusty Blush outlines and adhere them to the middle of the gold hexagons, overlapping them all. Apply something on top to help adhere them
- Diecut your sentiment using white cardstock and heat emboss with Dusty Blush. Diecut the shadow of the sentiment from black cardstock and adhere the 2 together. On white cardstock, heat emboss your smaller sub-sentiment using Weathered Rose. Add these to your background using adhesive and foam tape.
Remember that your extra pieces destined for the garbage can always be used….you never know what you can create. I really loved creating these 2 cards with this gorgeous new trio!
