Hey WOW! friends….it’s Michelle back with a new project. For my post today we are having fun and changing the look your heat embossing powder! I used Moonlight Marina from the Mermaid Lagoon Collection and paired with the Texture Changer. If you haven’t used any of the Changers before, they are funlittle powders that will transform your embossing powders and give them a new look…and feel too! Keep reading and I will show you how to Unlock New Looks with your Changer Lightening Powders.
- Heat emboss a rectangular piece of white cardstock using Moonlight Marina that will eventually be cut using a circle die. Ensure it will be large enough to cut the desired circle size.
- Using an empty WOW! embossing powder jar and a metal spoon, add one scoop of the Moonlight Marina and 3 scoops of the Texture Changer powder. The more of the changer powder you add to the embossing powder, the more of the effect you will achieve. Emboss the same size cardstock as above, to fit the circle die.
- Cut each of the embossed pieces using a 1/4″ strip die. Set each of the pieces aside.
- On a piece of white copy paper (paper for a photocopier, as it is thin enough) alternate and adhere the heat embossed strips, making sure they are placed right up against one another, so as not to have any visible gaps in between each strip. Cut this out using a circle die and add to an A2 white cardbase.
- Stamp and emboss your floral using Ebony embossing powder on vellum. Make sure your heat embossing tool is heated up well before going to the vellum, to ensure there is as little warping as possible. Cut out using the coordinating die.
- Cut out your sentiment using black cardstock and heat emboss using Moonlight Marina. I love the pearl sheen this powder has!
- Adhere all of your pieces to a white A2 cardbase. For the vellum floral, try to add glue using a fine tipped glue bottle only where the black embossing is, so as to try and hide any glue that may show through. Cut off any overhang with the circle and add a few black enamel dots top finish it.
The Changers are fabulous powders that will truly transform your current embossing powders. And as mentioned above, the more you add to your coloured powder, the more drastic the effect will be. The Texture Changer adds some great texture to an otherwise smooth powder but I find that it also gives it a wee bit of a sparkle too! Love how it looks like it’s a different powder altogether!
