Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!
Happy Wednesday Darlings, I hope you have all been keeping well. Today I am here to show off a card that I made for my Hubby to celebrate his first ever marathon. I wanted to make a card that would create a special keepsake for many years to come and WOW! Embossing powders were just the tools I needed to achieve that goal.
- 1. I die cut a square base from textured white cardstock, and then cut 3 narrow strips of white cardstock to emboss. As the marathon took place in Berlin, I wanted to create a location reminder, so used the following embossing powders, one per strip; ‘Black Glint’, ‘Primary Apple Red’, and ‘Primary Sunbeam’. To emboss, I used the Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink to cover the strips, sprinkled the powders over, and set into place using the Dual Speed Heat Tool. I then adhered the strips in order of the German flag colours onto the base layer.

2. Taking another scrap piece of white cardstock, I applied embossing ink, sprinkled WOW!’s ‘Metallic Polished Gold Super Fine’ powder, and set into place using the heat tool. I then took some small number dies and die cut the time it took Hubby to run the marathon – Hand clap for how well he did on his first marathon! I adhered the time underneath the flag.
3. What’s a marathon card without a running bear? The cute bear image is taken from Isabel Cristina’s ‘Sporty Bears’ digital stamp set. I used Ohuhu brush markers to colour the image in and adhered to the base layer using foam tape. To finish off the card, I added some sequins in the colours of the German flag to add to additional shine.

I hope you enjoy this creation and that it inspires you to use your WOW! products to create memories. This idea would be perfect for Travel Journaling too 🙂 Make sure to tag WOW! in any of your WOW! creations so that we can show them some love. Crafty Hugs, Jo x
