Foiling With a Heat Gun!

Hey crafty people! It’s Tasha, and I’m back with another video tutorial for WOW Embossing Powder. Today’s video is a bit of a mash up between my Back to Basics AND Make it WOW series’ and I’ve got so many awesome techniques & ideas to share with you, including how you can add foiling with a heat gun.

Holographic Embossing on Patterned Paper

1. Apply our Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink onto your patterned paper with a brayer and cover with Clear Hologram Sparkle and heat set from below.

Inking Fab Foilers

1. Using a brayer, apply Grass Skirt Catherine Pooler ink on the entire Fab Foiler panel. (This is one from the Background Art Fab Foiler pack.)
2. Add Deck The Halls onto half of the panel, blending it up into the grass Skirt to get an ombre look.
3. Wipe away any ink that is sitting on top of the toner printed pattern.

Foiling With a Heat Gun

1. Place your Fab Foiler panel on a cork mat to protect your workspace and heat a small section of the pattern with your WOW Dual Speed heat tool on setting 2.
2. Hold the heat tool 2-3 inches above the panel for 5-10 sections, keeping it moving slightly over the area.
3. Lay a piece of Gold Fab Foil, shiny side up on the area and press down with a smooth & insulated surface. (I used my Stamp Pressure Tool.)
4. Peel back the release sheet to reveal your foiled pattern.
5. Repeat these steps until you have recovered the whole panel.

No Heat Foiling

1. Peel back the release tape from a panel of double sided adhesive foam and press onto the matte side of your Fab Foil
2. Slowly roll through your die cutting machine to apply pressure, then peel away the clear release film. (Now you can die cut or trim whatever you want to put of this and have dimensional foil on your projects!)

Finishing my Card Project!

1. Die cut both the foiled foam and embossed patterned paper with the large sentiment in Crafty Meraki’s Slimline Birthday Tag die set. Glue the patterned paper on top of the foam, offset slightly to give a drop shadow effect.
2. Add foil to a smaller piece of foam in the same way as previously, and die cut the smaller, Scripty ‘happy’ sentiment from it. (Protect the foil, by placing the release paper from the foam, shiny side down, between the foil & the die when running it through your die cutting machine.)
3. Die cut the large tag from Neenah 80lb and adhere your stacked Birthday sentiment, with you smaller Scripty sentiments on top of that.
4. Trim the foiled green panel to 4 x 5.25 inches and add to an a2 cardbase made from Neenah 110lb. Rather than adding into the centre, place at the top, to give 3 sides with a white border.
5. Pop your tag up with foam tape, again adding to the top of your card.
