Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hello! I’m Christine and today we’re having a play with the fabulous Changers from WOW! For this card I’ve used the Texture for the Flowers along with Primary Fuchsia Fusion Powder and the Glisten for the Foliage with a mixture of Fresh Stem and Earthtone Olive! For the stamen of the tulips I used the Kiwi Gold from the Citrus Quad from Seth Apter, this powder is gorgeous as it is and ties in really nicely with the Changers, but without needing to be mixed with them 😀
Step By Step Tutorial
- Start with a 10×13 cm panel of white card, die-cut the outer frame from the Floral square tile die set from another piece of white card, followed by the detail die cut from vellum.
- Add 3D foam behind the frame, adhere it to the vellum, undercut the excess with a long pair of scissors, then add 3D foam behind the vellum too (just where the frame is for now) so it casts a shadow when added to the card later.
- Now for the fun part, the changers. Take an empty pot and mix equal quantities of Texture Changer with Primary Fuchsia Fusion, shake well and emboss an A7 piece of pastel pink card.
- Add another spoonful of Texture to the mixture, shake well, and use this new mixture to emboss another A7 piece of card. One of the flower dies requires 3 shades of pink, so for this add three parts Fuschia to one part Texture, mix well and emboss another piece of card.
- For the foliage take another empty pot and mix equal parts Glisten to Fresh Stem, mix well and emboss an A7 piece of pastel green card, to this mixture add one spoon of Earthtone Olive, mix and use to emboss another piece of pastel green card.
- Finally use the Kiwi Gold to Emboss an A7 piece of pastel yellow card, then use all 6 colour variations to die-cut the relevant pieces using the Layered Tulip Dies. You’ll want a selection of foliage and stems using the two different green tones, three layered tulips using the pink tones and the stamen cut from the kiwi gold.
- Assemble all your flowers, and tuck them into the square frame we created earlier. Add foam tape behind the flowers, and then behind the vellum where the flowers are too to add support.
- Add your stamped Mother’s Day Sentiment to your white card panel then adhere the topper onto the card too, finishing with a scattering of iridescent sequins.
