Stain Glass Technique with Wow Embossing powders

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Hello crafty friends, it’s Rick back with again today with another Craftsman’s Corner post. And this week I have not one but two projects to share with you using the Stain Glass Technique and WOW Embossing Powders.

Stain Glass Technique with Wow Embossing Powders.

To create the Stain Glass Technique is actually very simple. But if it can also be a little tricky as well. You are going to want to use an open image that you can color with and you are going to want to use some heat resistant acetate, and your favorite WOW Embossing Powders.

  1. I started out my card by stamping a large floral image. I stamped it in a black pigment ink onto heat resistant acetate. I did this twice, and covered both acetate panels with Primary Ebony Embossing Powder. And then I heat set it until it was smooth and melted. I then set the panels aside to cool completely.
  2. While the acetate is cooling. It’s time to work on the frames. Cut a panel of Kraft Cardstock just slightly smaller than the card base. Cut a center panel from the Kraft Cardstock panel. Using WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad brush it across a wood grain embossing folder. Place both pieces inside the inked embossing folder and emboss as normal.
  3. Once embossed pour on WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Embossing Powder over both panels. Remove the excess powder and pour back in the container. Heat set both panels.
  4. Now flip over the embossed acetate and color with your favorite alcohol marker colors making sure to stay in the lines on the back. Let the ink dry.
  5. Once the alcohol marker dries flip them over. For the frame attach to the back of the gold frame with strong adhesive. Attach another frame cut at the same size behind. Pop the frame up on the card base with a little foam adhesive. On the second card attach the center gold embossed panel on the card front.
  6. On the second card cut out the floral image and attach with a little liquid adhesive behind the embossed lines.
  7. For the sentiments heat emboss a panel of cardstock with Polished Gold Rich Embossing Powder and one with Ebony Embossing powder. Once the panels have cooled you can die cut your sentiment and shadow from the two colors. For the first card die cut two circles. On the center circle stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink and cover with Clear Gloss Embossing Powder and heat emboss. Attach the sentiments to the card front with a little foam adhesive.

See I told you it was easier than you thought it was.
