Getting the Most from Your Pad (The “Pro” Way)

This pad is incredibly juicy, which is a massive win for performance and value for money, but it does work a little differently than the old style foam pads. To get those professional-grade results, keep these two tips in mind:

The Gentle Tap: You don’t need to press! This pad is so loaded with ink that a light, feather-touch tap onto your stamp is all you need. If you’re used to a drier pad, your instinct might be to “smush” it—resist the urge! A gentle touch prevents flooding the fine details of your stamp.
- Top Tip: If you think you might have been a bit heavy-handed, just stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper first to clear any excess before hitting your project.
The Brayer Revolution: For covering large areas or creating backgrounds, we’ve found that using a brayer is the absolute gold standard. Rolling a brayer over the pad and then onto your card ensures a perfectly even, velvet-smooth layer. It avoids wasting ink and ensures your powder doesn’t “puddle,” giving you that crisp, clear, true-to-colour finish we all crave.
