Smile with WOW! Embossing

Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder!

Happy Wednesday Darlings,

It’s Jo here from @havefaithincards with another WOW! card and this one packs all the sparkles and shine in the form of a fun shaker card. The Embossing powder and Sparkle are from WOW!’s most recent release and they are stunning. To find out how I made this card, read on.

  1. Background – Taking an off-white textured cardstock, foam paper, and Time For Tea Designs ‘Lots of Love Vertical’ cover die, I ran both through the die cutting machine, then adhered the cardstock to the foam layer. I then took a piece of acetate and adhered it to the back of the foam, then applied double sided tape along the edges of acetate ready to create my shaker card element. For the shaker element, I used WOW!’s ‘Super Powerful Glitter’ Sparkles, removed the backing of the double sided tape, sealed the shaker elements in with a piece of Lilac cardstock.

2. Sentiment – For the sentiment, I decided to use the word Smile, taken from Alex Syberia Designs ‘Bright and Bubbly’ die set. I used a scrap piece of white cardstock, applied WOW!’s Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink all over, sprinkled the newly released ‘The Violetera’ embossing powder, and set into place using the Dual Speed Heat Tool. I die cut the word Smile from the embossed cardstock and some foam paper and adhered the two pieces together. I also decided to die cut some small hearts from the embossed cardstock, to add as embellishments to the design.

3. Image – The image I used is taken from the Alex Syberia Designs ‘Sparkle & Dance’ stamp set, one of my favourite stamp set from the brand! I stamped, coloured, and cut the dancing cat from the set, and added some Stickles glitter to the polka dot elements of the image.

4. Layout – To complete the card, I adhered the sentiment, image, and hearts to the background, and voila! A bright, sparkly, shaker card is now complete.

I absolutely love ‘The Violetera’ embossing powder. It has a stunning colour tone shift to it, where sometimes the purple looks deeper and other times it looks more pink! Make sure to check out the new releases from WOW! and don’t forget to tag them in any of your fabulous WOW! creations.
